Our Story

Since its establishment in downtown Hartford, Daswani Clothiers has been the gold standard for men's clothing. Our expertise fuses the finest hand-tailored workmanship, premiere one-on-one stylized consultations, and exceptional customer service that has paved the way for our better days yet to come.

Collectively, we have over one hundred years of industry experience. From pairing socks with pants to making suit jacket buttonholes by hand, this old-world service is state-of-the-art for our elite customers, some of the most distinguished gentlemen in Connecticut and throughout North America.

Daswani Clothiers is more than a men's store, it is an experience. From start to finish, our work isn't complete unless our customers look, fit, and feel their best.

OUR HISTORY

Our History 1970's

1970's

Jack Daswani develops his craft for fine tailoring and custom-made clothing. Leaves Hong Kong to expand business into the US. We pioneer the direct selling business way before the bigger custom houses existed.

Daswani regularly made frequent visits throughout major cities in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic and some parts of the Midwest. During one of his road trips between Manhattan and Boston he landed in Hartford, which would become the future home of Daswani Clothiers.

Daswani Custom Clothiers showroom became established in the Hartford Hilton Hotel on Asylum Avenue.

Jack and his wife Deepa opened their 5,000 sq. ft. dream store in West Hartford, expanding into mens ready-to-wear, women's, children's apparel, tailoring, embroidery, reweaving and uniforms.

Daswani Clothiers celebrates 25 years in business.

With their lease ending, Daswani moved to West Hartford Center, helping establish the business as a destination for luxury apparel and designer collections.

Daswani Clothiers was voted one of Connecticut's best men's stores.

Daswani began designing and producing its own private-label clothing, reflecting its expertise in garment construction, fit and style.

Daswani expanded into e-commerce and launched Daswani Direct, bringing custom fitting services directly to clients' homes and offices.

Jack's son joined the family business after five years of tailoring and designing experience, continuing the family legacy.
